Traditional Thai Massage is very different from any other form of bodywork. The massage itself is performed on a mat on the floor, with the client fully clothed in loose, comfortable, cotton clothing which allows for lots of movement. Thai Massage is done without the use of oils or lotions. The practitioner applies pressure and stretches the clients’ body by using palms, thumbs, forearms, elbows, knees and feet depending on the area and type of pressure the client prefers. Pressure is applied during a Thai Massage in order to release energy blockages and to remove stagnant energy which can manifest itself as pain in our bodies.

Thai Massage is done slowly and rhythmically, with no sudden changes in speed; nothing is hurried or rushed.  Thai Massage is almost like watching a beautifully choreographed dance with each movement flowing into the next.

First time recipients are generally surprised by the degree of stretching that their stiff bodies are able to reach. Others, even those who do regular yoga, find that Thai Massage is able to take them farther than they are normally able to go. With very few contraindications, anyone who is in reasonably good health - regardless of age, size or flexibility - will find Thai Massage highly beneficial.





Traditional Thai Massage is used to help in the prevention of illness. The ‘old’ feeling that many of us experience is often regarded as the inevitable stiffening of our joints.  It is believed by the Thai people, that most of our musculoskeletal pain and lack of joint mobility comes from repetitive use, causing the muscles to shorten.

With regular Thai Massage treatments, the muscles are stretched back to their original, natural resting length, sending a message to the brain that ‘all is well’. As a result, tension begins to melt away and mobility to the joints is restored, leaving you feeling younger.
